Shinsegae to hold sales event for luxury watches in Busan
Shinsegae Department Store said yesterday that it will hold a luxury watch fair for two weeks at its Centum City branch in Busan starting today.Watches from 18 top brands including IWC, Breitling, Cartier and Tag Heuer will be displayed at the fair. The retailer said that it organized the event because sales of luxury watches at its stores have increased in recent years. In the first half of this year, sales jumped 11.8 percent compared to the previous year.
An official from Shinsegae noted that unlike in the past, when luxury watches were considered to be for successful men in their 40s and 50s or for a wedding gift, today, consumers in their 20s and 30s are interested in the product.
