Model turned singer Hyuna of girl group Nine Muses revealed her exit from the group on Tuesday.
In a hand-written letter uploaded to the group’s fansite, she said, “After six years of performing as a member of Nine Muses, I decided not to renew my contract with [entertainment agency] Star Empire.
Leaving the warm embrace of the company is frightening, but I will continue to work hard to show fans my merits at a more comfortable pace.
I truly want to thank all of the hardworking staff members and manager for their dedication. I will never forget the precious memories that were given to me by my fellow members as well as our fans.”
In regards to the current status of the girl group, the agency said, “The group will continue to exist with the remaining five members.”
The former girl group member made her debut as a model in 2007, winning the Daum Special Award at the SBS Supermodel Asia Pacific Contest. She joined the girl group in 2010 with the release of their single “No PlayBoy.” The group recently released the mini-album “Muses Diary” in August as the four member sub-unit “Nine Muses A.”
