Hankook Technodome, an innovative R&D center which oversees research centers in the United States, Germany, China and Japan, plays a pivotal role in enhancing long-term R&D capabilities. While making use of the highest-quality components and state-of-the-art facilities, its purpose is to develop original technology in terms of tires and to create an eco-friendly research environment to secure the company’s sustainable future value. Recently, next-generation tires, which are customized according to the climates and road characteristics of different countries, are being developed, and Hankook Tire & Technology has also succeeded in launching premium tire products such as the ultra high performance tire.
To become a key player in the industry, Hankook Tire & Technology has also broadened its partnerships with premium global brands and supplied original equipment tires (OET) for more than 320 types of cars across 46 brands. In 2019, Hankook Tire & Technology supplied OETs to the Cayenne, a third-generation premium SUV model from Porsche, and the new Audi SQ8 TDI, one of the luxury models of German carmaker Audi.
Hankook Tire & Technology also signed a partnership with Porsche to provide OETs to the Macan, a crossover SUV model. Its partnerships with Audi’s new Audi SQ8 TDI along with other global companies such as Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and BMW enabled it to secure its position as a premium tire manufacturer as well as increase its competitiveness in the market.
Hankook Tire & Technology, with its innovative R&D, will continuously strive to strengthen its partnerships with different premium car brands with the help of cutting-edge technologies and broaden its product line in terms of flagship sedans, high-performance sports cars and premium SUVs.
