This gender-reversal "Ransom," casts Charlize Theron in the Mel Gibson role as a mother determined to save her young daughter from her abductors. The twist here is that Theron and her husband (Stuart Townsend) are being held hostage in different locations, with their daughter in yet another place. As the parents struggle against a trio of experienced kidnappers (Kevin Bacon, Courtney Love and Pruitt Taylor Vince), they discover that a different motivation lies behind this crime. Luis Mandoki ("Angel Eyes") directs. Iles wrote the screenplay.
