Posdata, Intel join in wireless Net pact
Posdata Co., a Korean computer system integrator, said yesterday it would work in the mobile Internet sector with the U.S. chipmaker Intel. The two firms signed a memorandum of understanding to work together in developing and marketing technologies associated with WiBro and WiMAX, two mobile Internet service standards. WiBro is a Korean technology jointly developed by Samsung Electronics Co. and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, based on Intel Corp’s WiMAX high-speed Internet standard. “The cooperation combines Posdata’s mobile WiMAX products for WiBro service, trial experiences of the country’s service providers and Intel’s global capabilities on WiMAX,” a press release by the Korean company said.
