Police launch probe of controversial video of culture minister and Kim Yu-na

Police have launched an investigation to determine who was behind a video clip released on the Internet that apparently depicts the culture minister harassing Olympic figure skating gold medalist Kim Yu-na, officials said Wednesday. The clip is an edited version of a video made during the welcoming ceremony for Korea’s Olympic squad on March 2 at Incheon International Airport. It shows Kim stepping back after Culture Minister Yu In-chon lays a flower wreath over her head. The ceremony was broadcast live on television. The ministry filed defamation charges on March 8 against those responsible for the clip, saying Minister Yu was trying to congratulate Kim and that the Internet version was edited to suggest harassment.
