* Today, 6:30 p.m / Saturday, Sunday 5 p.m.
The SK Wyverns, first place in the KBO standings, host the Twins this weekend to try to extend their lead over the seven other teams.
The Wyverns are armed with power pitching, evidenced by the team’s 3.23 ERA, good for best in the KBO. Starter Gary Glover is second in the league in ERA (2.93) and strikeouts (88).
But the Twins have been better on offense than the Wyverns. The Seoul-based team is second in team batting average (.275) and first in home runs (56).
The Twins are also active on the basepaths, having collected a league-leading 72 stolen bases. In addition, right fielder Lee Jin-young, who is a major part of the lineup, returned to the team this week after a month recovering from a shoulder injury.
