TEDx at SNU set for Sept.3

The knowledge-sharing conference TEDx, which aims to disseminate “ideas worth spreading” at the local level, will be held at Seoul National University on Sept. 3 under the theme “Quantum Jump.”

The conference at SNU is a four-part series, and its first event was held in March. Next month’s conference will be the second installment.

TED, which stands for “Technology, Entertainment and Design,” is held in California twice a year and invites leaders in the three fields.

TEDx conferences are independently organized, and more than 50 conferences have been held in Korea in accordance with the TED regulations since 2009.

Seven speakers will participate in the TEDx conference at SNU, including Joo Chul-hwan, a production director general at jTBC, Nam Mu-sung, a jazz musician and analyst, and Hilary V. Finchum-Sung, a music professor at SNU. The first 100 people who make online reservations beginning 9 p.m. today at www.tedxsnu.com will be able to participate in the conference.
