No. 2 shipper ventures into warmer seas with Q3 profit
Hyundai Merchant Marine, Korea’s No. 2 shipping line, said yesterday it swung to an operating profit in the third quarter.Consolidated operating profit reached 28.6 billion won ($26 million) in the three months ended Sept. 30, a dramatic turnaround from an operating loss of 98.7 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Sales gained 12.1 percent on-year to 2.12 trillion won in the third quarter, the company said, without releasing its net profit.
