“U+ TV G” in full HD was launched by LG U+ on March 12.

LG U+, which launched a nationwide LTE network for the first time in the world, created an LTE data 2+ package and commercialized Volte for the first time, is leading the IPTV market as the No. 1 player through its innovative services.

LG U+ launched “U+TV G” in October - a combined product featuring U+ TV converged home service and Google TV.

Just by installing a set-top box, customers can enjoy various YouTube content in high-definition quality via television with the U+TV G service. And at Google Play, there are various TV applications such as games and English education services.

The package also provides a combined search service with content connected through television channels, video on demand, YouTube, the Internet and Google Play.

Even while watching television, users of the impressive service can look up whatever information they want, a very significant improvement from previous system.

In the past, IPTV real-time channels and VOD were not available in conjunction with Google TV, but customers can now enjoy the features. In addition, services can be enjoyed on a smartphone with NFC touch technology. Phone-to-TV content, image search and social network sharing are also offered.

This year, LG U+ is moving one step forward among its competitors through improving its IPTV quality. The company announced that it began to provide U+TV G in full HD quality from March 12. The full HD broadcasting that has been revealed this time offers HD quality that is two times better than older technologies. Content is accessible via the Google set-top box that is provided when signing up for the package.

Transmission for the package has been upgraded from seven Mbps to 10 Mbps, so subscribers can enjoy terrestrial broadcasting and cable channels in upgraded quality.

LG U+ offers 32 channels in full HD, which customers prefer for films, sports, documentaries and entertainment channels. By next month, full HD options will include 50 channels, and by the end of this year, that number will increase to 70 channels. VOD content that is sensitive to quality will also transition to full HD. The full HD service is priced the same as U+TV G at 9,900 won per month (VAT not included, 3 year package).

Current U+TV G customers can already enjoy the full HD service automatically without changing the set-top box. Other clients must join the U+TV G service by calling the customer center (101). LG U+ launched the service of high-quality broadcasting and Google TV for the first time in the world, and by providing full HD service to paid subscribers, it will once again continue innovation in the field of IPTV.
