The driving force of the company’s growth is its ability to discover new projects thanks to its top-notch global network. It has also worked to expand the scope of its business operations with a focus on business development, operation and management.
Samsung C&T is especially thriving in new businesses such as IPP/PPP, health care and mining, all of which require truly global operations. Above all, the company has seen huge achievements thanks to targeted marketing being placed around the world.
In 2012, Samsung C&T succeeded in expanding to new markets such as Hong Kong, Qatar and Indonesia. Early in the year, the company made a strong start with a road construction order worth $296 million in Lusail City, Qatar. Later, it successfully debuted in Hong Kong via the Shatin-Central Line subway construction project worth $589 million in a consortium with local company Hshin Chong. Other new projects include skyscraper construction in Indonesia and railway development in Mongolia.
Samsung C&T aims to be reborn as a global construction corporation by expanding its international presence just as these projects exemplify. With each new contract, the company strengthens its experience in new markets.
As part of its internationalization efforts, Samsung also established new branches in Chile, Australia and Hong Kong, boosting the total number of overseas offices from 19 to 28. The company expects to make 2013 the very first year in which it reaches the entire world.
Samsung C&T will also diversify its target projects by continuously expanding in areas like the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where business operations are already strong. It will further reinforce its global marketing strategy in all possible ways to secure business in Africa and South America.
In order to stay competitive as a top global construction firm, Samsung C&T also aims for concrete success in developed countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia - home to the world’s top firms.
As part of this strategy, it will continue to recruit top talent from across the world. It will secure new markets and clients.
