Team race for diversity on April 27

The moment of crossing the finish line in a long-distance race always provides a great sense of achievement. It’s even better on a warm spring day.

BBB Korea, a nonprofit organization that offers language services for foreign visitors, is holding a race on April 27 at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi.

It’s the third time for the group to hold the race.

Participants are encouraged to register in teams, although single registration is available. If an individual participant wants to be included on a team, the organization will help match them up with other runners.

The organization stressed that the seven-kilometer (4.3-mile) race is not all about competition, but more about health and bringing people together.

“We hope that people will run together and feel refreshed, transcending generations and language barriers. That’s why we drew up the idea of a team race,” said a representative of BBB Korea.

The marathon race has 3,000 slots available on first-come, first-served basis at run.bbbkorea.org. The deadline to register is April 19. The registration fee, which is 10,000 won ($8.80), includes park entrance, refreshments and a souvenir. For more information, call 02-725-9108.
