2 Koreas set to face off in U-14 football semis

Korea’s U-14 football team clobbered East Timor 4-0 in the 2013 Asian Youth Games quarterfinal match in Nanjing, China, on Monday, setting up a rare inter-Korean match in the semis.

North Korea beat Indonesia 3-2 in Monday’s other quarterfinal match and will meet the South tomorrow.

Im Wha-rang put South Korea ahead in the 50th minute and Kim Jung-min, Kim Dong-gyun and Cho Young-wook added goals, giving the squad its fourth-straight victory in the tournament.

Iraq and Iran will vie for the second berth to the finals in today’s other semifinal match.

Iran advanced to the semis with a 2-1 victory over Vietnam while Iraq routed Thailand 3-0 in the quarters.
