Kim Jun-su makes Australian debut

Kim Jun-su from JYJ held his first solo Australian concert on Saturday.

His agency, CJeS Entertainment, said yesterday that “Xia Incredible Concert” was a success, drawing a crowd of 2,500 at Big Top Sydney.

Kim captivated the audience with an array of hits from his first and second solo albums as well as theme songs from drama soundtracks.

The 26-year-old entertainer also took time to converse with fans by setting aside a segment to talk.

“The fans just went wild. They were singing and dancing along with him and many were crying,” said a spokesperson from CJeS.

The JYJ member said it was a heartwarming moment for him, too.

“To see fans crying through ballad songs reminded me that music really is borderless,” said Kim.

Before his concert, Kim was interviewed for the show “Pop Asia” on SBS, the national TV broadcaster. The clip will air nationwide Sunday, introducing him to the greater Australian public.

The next stop on Kim’s itinerary is Japan, where he is scheduled to perform in Nagoya from Oct. 8-10, then in Yokohama from Oct. 14-16. In December, Kim will return to doing what he loves best: musicals. His agency confirmed earlier that he will star in a production titled “December: A Never Ending Song.”
