‘American Idol’ singer tries Korea

Han Hee-jun, a former contestant from season 11 of “American Idol” in the United States, is joining a Korean audition reality program, “K-Pop Star 3,” which is broadcast on SBS.

Han was the first Korean to make it into the top nine on the popular American program, said the “K-Pop Star” production team.

Not only did Han earn some popularity from taking part in the show, he also released an EP, titled “Bring the Love Back,” in September of last year in the United States.

With Han having released a mini-album and having had exposure in the United States, many people in Korea are becoming curious as to what made him decide to compete in another audition program. People are also wondering how he is going to be viewed by local judges Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG Entertainment; Park Jin-young, founder of JYP Entertainment; and singer and composer Yoo Hee-yeol.
