Hyundai Steel, the nation’s second-largest steel maker, said that it became the first local company to export its high-performance steel bars for concrete reinforcement.
The affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group said that 3,000 tons of its steel bars will be used in the construction of a gas thermal power plant in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. The company last year supplied its high-performance steel bars for a Kepco E&C building in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang, but this is the first time that it will send that product overseas.
Hyundai Steel said its steel bars are authorized to be used in the construction of some earthquake-resistant?buildings in Korea after meeting requirements by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
