Kim Yoo-jung stars in ‘Gok-bi’

The drama depicts the life of a gisaeng, or traditional female entertainer from the Joseon era (1392-1910).
What is really making media experts take note of this new series is that it was written by Heo Ji-young, the grand prize winner of the 2013 Broadcasting Video Contents Project sponsored by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
Along with supporting filmmakers through its “Blooming Youth Project,” the agency aims to support creative and original television dramas.
“I’m happy to wear beautiful hanbok [Korean traditional clothing] in the drama,” said Kim in a press release. “I’m also thrilled to reunite with chief producer Lee Geon-jun.”
The actress worked with Lee on the KBS drama “Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho” in 2010.
“Gok-bi,” which means “funeral singer” in Korean, will air Sunday at 11:55 p.m.
