Korea, Ghana may play friendly ahead of Brazil
The Korea Football Association said yesterday that it is considering organizing a friendly match between Korea and Ghana as part of the national football team’s preparation for the 2014 Brazil World Cup, which starts in June. The KFA said the match is projected to be held in Miami on June 9 (June 10 Korea time). Ghana, which is ranked No. 38 in the world, will make its third consecutive World Cup appearance in Brazil since the 2006 Germany World Cup.The KFA said Ghana will be a competitive sparring partner for the Taegeuk Warriors, led by Coach Hong Myung-bo, before they face Algeria at the World Cup, which is in Group H with Korea. Ghana advanced to the quarterfinals in the 2010 South Africa World Cup and has won four Africa Cup of Nations titles.
