Big Bang goes head to head against Thirty Seconds to Mars for best fan army

Thanks to Big Bang’s fan club, the band has entered the final stages in a voting contest sponsored by Billboard.

Big Bang’s fans, called VIPs, turned out in droves to vote in Round 4 for the Fan Army Face-Off championship. The band took 65 percent of the vote, which is almost twice the turnout for American rock band Skillet’s fan club at 34 percent. Voting for Round 4 closed on Saturday.

The new poll closes on Aug. 10 and Big Bang will be competing with American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars for the finals.

Billboard started the contest on July 7 to find out which fan club is the strongest. It rounded up 32 groups for the championship, and the title of strongest “fan army” will be given after five rounds of voting.

Big Bang’s fans made it to the finals by eking out a win over Rihanna’s fans in Round 1, Selena Gomez’s fans in Round 2, Girls’ Generation’s fans in Round 3 and Skillet’s fans in Round 4.
