SK Gas acquires an affiliate of beleaguered Dongbu Group
Dongbu Power Dangjin Corporation, an affiliate of steelmaker Dongbu Group that is undergoing due to financial problems, has been sold to SK Gas. SK said yesterday it acquired a 60 percent stake in Dongbu Power for 201 billion won ($190.5 million) in a move toward entering the coal power plant business.
