The Korea women’s team will host Russia on April 5 in Incheon and will play another match in Daejeon three days later.
The team, led by head coach Yoon Duk-yeo, included Hwacheon KSPO midfielder Son Yun-hee for the first time, while rest of the squad was filled up with familiar faces that played at the Incheon Asian Games last year.
However, regular members like midfielder Jeon Ga-eul, who plays with Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels, and defender Shim Seo-yeon of Incheon Daekyo were omitted due to injury. Their spots will be filled by defender Hwang Bo-ram and midfielder Kang Yu-mi. Ji, who has 36 goals in 72 matches for Korea, will join the team on April 4.
Korea has two wins, one draw and three losses against Russia in its head-to-head record.
