U-23 coach Shin rejoins staff of Taegeuk Warriors

Korea Football Association (KFA) on Monday said that men’s U-23 football team coach Shin Tae-yong will also serve as an assistant coach to men’s national football team, which is led by German coach Uli Stielike.
Shin previously served Stielike from September to January. But after Lee Kwang-jong stepped down as the men’s U-23 football team coach due to leukemia, the 44-year-old took over in February.
The KFA said that instead of adding a new assistant coach to the national team, which is preparing for the upcoming second round Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, it decided to select Shin because of his familiarity with Stielike’s coaching style and the other assistant coaches - Carlos Alberto Armua, Park Kun-ha and Kim Bong-soo.
