POP UMA’s comprehensive service offers thorough, client-oriented consultation.Provided by the company

Samsung Securities is offering client-oriented services with its POP Unified Managed Account (UMA).

POP UMA is an asset management wrap service in which the securities company oversees and supports clients in all steps of investment, from asset allocation and product selection to after-sales assistance.

Unlike previous services where clients had to choose a single type of financial product to invest in, Samsung Securities allows clients to opt into various products simultaneously and diversify their portfolio through funds, stocks and equity-linked securities.

POP UMA has been especially popular, with investment into the service totaling 800 billion won ($731.2 million) so far this year.

Clients who sign up for the product can sit down for a one-on-one portfolio consultation with private bankers at Samsung Securities.

Even in the case of market fluctuation, there is no need for the customer to make any further visits to the bankers as rebalancing services will be arranged instantaneously.

Signing up for the performance-based product, an additional option available with POP UMA, offers even greater benefits.

For example, the basic fee is only 1 percent per year, whereas the original price is marked at 1.8 percent per year.

In addition, if the client’s yearly rate of return surpasses 6 percent, 15 percent of anything that goes beyond that mark will be charged as a performance fee.

The maximum that can be charged as a fee is 3 percent of the principal investment.

This way, clients can worry less about a low rate of return since the basic fee is lower than usual. At the same time, private bankers at Samsung Securities have to consider the benefits of clients first, since higher rates of return also lead to a better operating performance on their part.

Investing in the POP UMA requires 100 million won, while opting into the performance-based product requires 300 million won.
