Wi Sung-woo, coach of Chuncheon Woori Bank Hansae, has been tapped to lead the women’s national basketball team in the 26th Asian Women’s Basketball Championship, the Korea Basketball Association reported.

Wi, 44, has led Hansae to win the Women’s Korean Basketball League (WKBL) title for the last three seasons and also helped the national team win a gold medal in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

The Asian Women’s Basketball Championship starts from Aug. 29 to Sept. 5 in Wuhan, China, and the winner earns a spot at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. The women’s team will start training next month and will also play in the William Jones Cup in Taiwan beginning July 27.
