Kumho Asiana Group held its ninth Kumho Asiana Vietnam Scholarship event and fourth Kumho Asiana Korean Speech Contest on Friday at the Vietnam National University in Hanoi.
During the scholarship ceremony, 100 Vietnamese students were granted full scholarships for their undergraduate studies.
The Kumho Asiana Vietnam Scholarship and Cultural Foundation (KVSC) has been supporting scholarships for students in Vietnam since its establishment in 2007.
KVSC is the biggest scholarship foundation in Vietnam. Including 100 students this year, the group has supported a total of 1,200 students.
The speech contest elected 20 finalists among applicants from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hue through a rigorous selection process. The winners will be given week-long trips to experience Korean culture.
First, second and third-prize winners will be granted one year, six months and three months of study at Kyung Hee University, respectively, in addition to free airline tickets and boarding expenses.
“KVSC is the first scholarship foundation established by a foreign company in Vietnam, and the group has constantly contributed to the nation’s public welfare,” a Kumho Asiana Group official said.
