Celebrities lace up their gloves

Female celebrities are done putting up with recent libelous rumors on the Internet.

For instance, victims of prostitution scandals not only include female singers but some top-notch actresses, too, like Song Hye-kyo, Kang So-ra and Shin Se-kyung.

Agencies of these celebrities spoke to the press on Monday, saying they will ask distributors to take legal responsibility in preventing further damage from such bogus rumors.

The agency of Song Hye-hyo, for whom it is not the first time to be the victim of such rumors, made clear that they are filing a defamation suit and will grant no settlement to the culprits.

Although Song’s former scandal with a conglomerate leader had been proven false by the prosecution, her reputation nonetheless suffered a major hit.

The agency also categorically denied the actresses’ other scandal, involving Song Joong-ki, her male counterpart in the popular currently running drama “Descendants of the Sun.” The two were reportedly seen by fans together in New York in a restaurant.

The practice of paying celebrities to perform sexual services was first brought to light in an SBS investigative report.

According to rumors disseminated on the Internet, there is an alleged list of celebrities who have performed sexual favors.
