Twins’ Park continues hitting spree in MLB debut season

Minnesota Twins Park Byung-ho went 1-for-5 with two base-on-balls and one strikeout during the Major League game against the Cleveland Indians at the Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday. The Twins finally escaped from an eight-game slide by defeating the Indians 6-3.

Coming out of the loss on Saturday in which Park carded his eighth and ninth home runs, Park struck out during his first at-bat in the top of second against Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber. During his second at-bat, Park walked with four balls but was forced out at second. His hit came in the sixth, when he singled on a ground ball. Although Park got to the third, he couldn’t drive home with Juan Centeno lining out to center fielder Tyler Naquin. He was grounded out in the eighth inning and walked again in the ninth.

Ji’s Chelsea Ladies lose

final trophy to Arsenal

Korean midfielder for the Chelsea Ladies FC Ji So-yeon played the entire 90 minutes during the Women’s FC Cup finals match against the Arsenal Ladies but didn’t tally any points or assists while the team conceded the trophy to Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday.

The only goal in the game came during the first half in front of a record crowd of 32,912 at Wembley Stadium in London when Arsenal’s Danielle Carter drove past Chelsea defenders from the left corner of the penalty box to curl a shot past the Chelsea goalkeeper. Carter’s goal was enough to lift Arsenal over the defending champion Chelsea Ladies, who struggled on the pitch throughout the match, to hoist its 14th FA Cup of franchise history.
