Honoring an officer
At the 71st Police Day celebration held in the Sejong Center for Performing Arts in central Seoul on Friday, police officers pay silent tribute to a fellow police officer who was killed on duty. Ex-convict Seong Byung-dae, 46, allegedly shot Lieutenant Kim Chang-ho to death with a homemade gun Wednesday night. The Seoul Northern District Court on Friday issued a warrant for the police to detain Seong for further investigation. The police announced its plan to impose more severe punishment on those who illegally manufacture or possess guns. [JOINT PRESS CORPS]
