Nexen Heroes complete their foreign player roster

The Korea Baseball Organization’s Nexen Heroes have finished signing their foreign players for next season.

The Seoul-based team announced Monday that they have retained American pitcher Andrew Van Hekken and outfielder Danny Dorn for $900,000 and $650,000, respectively.

The Heroes have now filled up their foreign player quota for the upcoming season after signing pitcher Sean O’Sullivan last week.

Each team in the Korean baseball league can have up to three foreign players each season, with at least one position player on the roster.

Celtic wins 100th trophy in the club’s 129-year history

GLASGOW - Celtic won the 100th major trophy in the Glasgow club’s 129-year history by beating Aberdeen 3-0 in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.

It gave Brendan Rodgers his first trophy in management during his first season in charge of Celtic after previously missing out on silverware, most notably with Liverpool.

Midfielders Tom Rogic and James Forrest scored in the first half at Hampden Park, Scotland’s national stadium. Striker Moussa Dembele converted from the penalty spot in the 64th minute after Forrest was fouled by Anthony O’Connor.
