Team Korea House reopens in Gangwon’s Olympic Park

Korea on Saturday opened a facility for promoting the country and providing support to international athletes and guests during the Paralympics, the government said.

Team Korea House opened at the Olympic Park in Gangneung, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The three-story center consists of a ground floor where visitors can learn about the host country, along with an area for press conferences and a lounge for athletes to relax and enjoy beverages.

Team Korea House had been put on ice after being operated during the 17-day Winter Olympics, which wrapped up last week. The government said more than 200,000 tourists visited the center during the period.

The ministry said it has adjusted facilities at the center to ensure convenient access for guests with impairments.

Wonju Dongbu Promy wins KBL regular season title

The Wonju Dongbu Promy has been named the Korea Basketball League’s 2017-18 regular season champion after the Jeonju KCC lost its game 83-88 to Seoul Samsung Thunders on Sunday.

As the Promy lost its game 69-79 to Seoul SK Knights on Sunday, the team and the fans waited for the result of KCC’s game. With KCC’s loss, the Promy was named champion even before playing its final game of the season tomorrow, since the Promy has won two games more than the KCC. The Promy’s record for this season is 37 wins and 16 losses while the KCC is at 35 wins and 18 losses.

This is the first time in six years that the Promy have won the regular season. Their all-time record now stands at five wins.
