The Korea Football Association (KFA) said 64,174 tickets for Korea’s friendly against Uruguay at Seoul World Cup Stadium in Seoul on Oct. 12 were all sold as of 4:50 p.m. Monday. The KFA added that 2,300 tickets at KEB Hana Bank were all bought just 20 minutes after sales began, while the rest of the tickets were all sold online less than three hours after ticket sales opened.
The KFA said 25,486 tickets for the friendly match against Panama at Cheonan Stadium in South Chungcheong on Oct. 16 were all sold as of 5 p.m.
This is the first time in 15 years that tickets for the men’s national team matches have sold out on the first day of sales, following a sellout of all tickets for an April 16, 2003 friendly match against Japan.
With the latest ticket sales, Korea will play in front of a sell-out crowd in four straight matches since Paulo Bento took over the coaching job in August. Tickets for Korea’s friendly matches against Costa Rica and Chile also sold out last month.
