The Doosan Bears finished recruiting their coaching staff for the 2019 season with the addition of Chung Kyoung-bae on Friday.
Before joining the Bears, Chung was the SK Wyverns’ batting coach. Over the past two seasons with the Wyverns, Chung led the club’s batters to top the league’s home runs, easily exceeding 200. Once the Wyverns’ former manager Trey Hillman announced his leave, Chung also left the team after helping the club win the 2018 Korean Series.
The Bears will now have Kim Won-hyeong as their main pitching coach and Jung Jae-hoon as their bullpen coach. Ko Young-min will be the first base coach while Kim Min-jae will be the third base coach.
