Main event of Boryeong Mud Festival to be held online from Saturday

The main event of this year's Boryeong Mud Festival, “Stay Home Mud Live,” will be held online on Saturday from 4 p.m. to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the city announced on Monday.

The online event offers a two-way experience where participants can enjoy a live K-pop concert, various mud-themed games and activities live and share their responses.

The concert lineup includes singer Han Ga-bin, girl group Secret Number, boy group ONF and popular trot singer Hong Jin-young.

After the concert is over, participants who preordered a "Mud Experience Kit" will have a chance to share their mud experience in real time by participating in quizzes and games to win prizes, and learning mud dances from local dance teams.

“This year's online Boryeong Mud Festival is very meaningful in that it presents a large-scale festival reflecting the post-Covid-19 era," Boryeong Mayor Kim Dong-il said.

The 23rd Boryeong Mud Festival will start on Friday and run until July 26 with 11 mud-related pieces of content on its YouTube channel.
