Apple TV+ to release 'K-Pop Idols' docuseries in August featuring Cravity, Jessi and Black Swan

Apple TV+ will release the “K-Pop Idols” documentary series on Aug. 30, focusing on behind-the-scenes footage from the K-pop industry.
 
The six-episode series will feature boy band Cravity, singer Jessi and multinational girl group Black Swan.

The series showcases K-pop artists as they break down cultural and musical barriers with passion, creativity and determination while pursuing their dreams, Apple TV+ said in a press release Thursday.
 
“K-Pop Idols” is produced by Emmy Award-winning executive producer Todd Lubin, known for the documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry” (2021).  
 
Other producers of the show include Jack Turner, who produced the political documentary “War Game” and Elise Chung, who produced the reality show “Bling Empire” (2021-2022).  
 
Cravity, who debuted in April 2020 with EP “Hideout: Remember Who We Are — Season 1”, is a nine-member group under Starship Entertainment. Its members are: Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Woobin, Wonjin, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung and Seongmin.
 
Jessi, who debuted in 2005 with the EP “Get Up,” gained prominence in 2015 through Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar,” where she finished second. Notable songs include "Life Is Good" (2009), “Nunu Nana” (2020), “Cold Blooded” (2021) and “Zoom” (2022). Her latest music, “GUM,” was released on Oct. 25 last year.
 
Black Swan debuted in 2020 with the album “Goodbye RANIA” and has released singles such as "Close to Me" (2021) and "That Karma" (2023). Their first EP, “Roll Up,” is set for release on Wednesday.
