Kangwon Land takes a gamble on reopening
State-run casino Kangwon Land is resuming business Monday, five months after halting operations due to the coronavirus in February.
The casino in Gangwon province will allow only 750 people to enter per day — less than 10 percent of the daily average last year.
Gamblers will be picked randomly from people who made reservations.
Kangwon Land plans to operate slot machines and electronic table games that do not require contact between employees and visitors. The casino is putting extra space between slot machines to minimize contact among visitors.
All visitors and employees will have their temperatures checked upon entering, and all are required to wear masks.
