[Living Tradition] Festival of fireworks

The 2020 World Heritage Festival Gyeongbuk will kick off on Friday and run until Aug. 30 in the cities of Andong, Gyeongju and Yeongju in North Gyeongsang, according to the Cultural Heritage Administration.

The festival has been organized to promote rich cultural heritage — through music, dance and clothing — as well as Confucian and Buddhist philosophies developed in the region. The above picture shows julbulnori, or traditional fireworks, of Andong. [CULTURAL HERITAGE ADMINISTRATION]
