CHA and VANK seek Global Cultural Heritage Ambassadors

The Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) and the Voluntary Agency Network Korea (VANK), announced Thursday that they are looking for new members who will work as Global Cultural Heritage Ambassadors. VANK is a civic group that promotes Korean history and culture online.

After signing a memorandum of understanding in 2021, CHA said the two organizations have been working together to foster cultural heritage ambassadors to “properly disseminate Korean traditional cultures and history.”

International students who are studying in Korea are eligible to apply online until June 21. A total of 30 ambassadors will be selected.

The selected members will participate in promotional activities starting from the kick-off ceremony, which will be held on June 26. During the kick-off ceremony, the selected ambassadors will tour Gyeongbok Palace together and also visit the National Palace Museum of Korea.

After the ceremony, the ambassadors will take on the tasks of autonomically introducing their cultural heritage to Korea and Korean cultural heritage to their own countries for the following two months. A certification will be given out to those who successfully carry out the given activities for the two months during a completion ceremony on August 24.
