GS Retail and Standard Chartered Bank Korea introduced a new deposit account promotion on Oct. 19. [STANDARD CHARTERED BANK KOREA]

Standard Chartered Bank Korea and GS Retail signed a comprehensive business memorandum in January, aiming to work together to provide customers with experiences promoting both banking and retail services.

As a result of that memorandum of understanding, Standard Chartered and GS on Oct. 19 launched the Installment Deposit Event with GS25, offering the chance for customers opening new deposit accounts with Standard Chartered to earn up to 25,000 won ($22) in GS Retail coupons.

To be eligible for the event, customers must open the First Household Deposit account at Standard Chartered. Up to 3,500 people can open the through GS Retail’s My Fridge application, earning the coupon in the process.

The account has a maturity of 6 months, with a 100,000 won minimum monthly deposit and 1 percent basic interest per year.

To open an account, customers have to have no record of defaulting on deposit payments and agree to share marketing-related information with Standard Chartered Bank Korea.

If the mentioned prerequisites are met, users will receive a 10,000 won GS25 coupon in November, a 5,000 won GS Fresh Mall coupon in December and another 10,000 won GS25 coupon in March next year.

New Standard Chartered customers that open both a normal current account and apply for the GS Retail promotion will have a chance to win a 250,000 won GS Caltex coupon. Only 10 coupons are available, so eligible customers will be entered into a random draw.
