A giant artificial moon, which can be used as an observatory, is now installed on the quay at Nodeul Island on the Han River in Seoul. The public art piece “Moonlight Nodeul,” which is 12 meters in diameter, has stairs and decks built into it so that people can enjoy the landscape of the river and downtown Seoul. Designed by Nameless Architecture, the final winner of the international competition for the project by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, “Moonlight Nodeul” will officially open to the public on Feb. 26, which is the day of the first full moon of the new lunar year.
