Movie theaters are offering discounts to vaccinated people ready to resume their weekend outings.

The Korea Theater Association announced Tuesday that Korea’s three major multiplexes — CGV, Megabox and Lotte Cinema — will launch a “Covid-19 Vaccine” campaign for a month from June 1 to 30 to incentivize people to get vaccinated.

According to the association, people who've had the first dose of the vaccine can avail of a discount of up to 6,000 won ($5.40), per ticket for a regular 2D film by showing their vaccination certificate.

“We’ve decided to launch this campaign in hopes of encouraging people to get vaccinated and return to normal daily life as soon as possible,” said Lee Chang-moo, president of the Korea Theater Association.
