TV personality Park Su-hong surprised his fans Wednesday by announcing that he is legally married.

On the Instagram account belonging to his celebrity cat Dahong, Park revealed that he had taken the legal steps to wed his girlfriend.

“I have met the one person whom I want to spend the rest of my life with and the love and trust we have for each other is so big. There’s no other reason,” the 51-year old wrote.

“So far, I don’t think I have lived an independent life. I thought things will get better if I just put up with it alone and endure it by myself. But I’ve realized so late in life that life doesn’t always go as planned,” he continued. “Now as the man of the house, as a husband, as a father to Dahong who gave me hope in life, I want to live for my family and raise an ordinary family.”

Park also asked fans to refrain from making thoughtless assumptions as his wife is a non-celebrity who is not used to being the subject of gossip.

“I feel sorry for my wife for not being able to have a beautiful wedding,” Park added.

In April, Park sued his brother for embezzlement after financial woes related to his family came to light.

He insisted that some 30 years of his income went to his brother, who used to operate an agency representing him. Park’s brother then disclosed the existence of Park’s girlfriend to the media, saying that the trouble arose between the two, not because Park felt upset because of the financial issues but because Park’s family did not approve of his girlfriend, who is 23 years younger than him.
