The release date for the upcoming film "Emergency Declaration" has been postponed due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases, according to its distributor Showbox on Wednesday.

영화 “비상선언”의 개봉일이 최근 코로나19 확진자 급증으로 인하여 연기되었다고 배급사 쇼박스가 수요일 밝혔다.

The film, directed by Han Jae-rim and starring actors Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Doyeon, Kim Nam-gil and Yim Si-wan, was originally scheduled to hit local theaters in January 2022.

배우 송강호, 이병헌, 전도연, 김남길, 임시완이 출연하는 한재림 감독의 “비상선언”은 원래 내년 1월 개봉될 예정이었다.

"As Covid-19 is rapidly spreading and many industries are strengthening their pandemic measures, we considered these difficulties and postponed the opening date of 'Emergency Declaration,'" said Showbox.

쇼박스는 “코로나19가 급격히 확산하고 각 부문에서는 방역 강화가 이어지고 있다"며 "현 상황의 어려움을 고려해 '비상선언' 개봉을 잠정 연기하게 됐다”고 밝혔다.

The new release date has not been disclosed. Showbox added that "Emergency Declaration" will hit theaters when "it becomes easier for moviegoers to visit cinemas."

변경된 개봉일은 공개되지 않았다. 쇼박스는 “극장을 찾는 많은 분의 발걸음이 조금은 더 가벼워질 수 있을 때 관객 여러분을 찾아가겠다"고 덧붙였다.

The plot of "Emergency Declaration" centers around a plane struggling to make an emergency landing after a detective receives a tip that a potential terrorism suspect has boarded the plane.

“비상선언”은 어느 형사가 한 비행기에 테러리스트 용의자가 탑승했다는 제보를 받자 비상착륙을 하려 분투하는 비행기에 대한 내용이다.

In July, the film was invited to be screened out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
