Song Ji-ah, one of the participants in Netflix’s recently-ended dating reality series “Single’s Inferno,” admitted to having worn fake designer clothing while filming the show.

After allegations arose online that Song wore fake designer clothes on “Single’s Inferno," she posted an apology note on her Instagram account Monday night stating that some of the claims were true.

“I would like to apologize for infringing on the designers’ creations and my lack of knowledge about copyrights,” wrote Song. “As a person who dreams of launching a fashion brand, I acknowledge my faults and deeply regret my actions.”

Song added that all the pictures of her wearing the fake designer clothes on her Instagram account have been deleted.

Although Song bought the copied products, she will not be legally punished. According to Article 230 of Korea’s Trademark Act, manufacturers and sellers of fake products can be sentenced to jail for up to seven years or be ordered a fine of up to 100 million won ($84,165). There are no legal repercussions for buyers of fake brand clothing .

Song is a beauty Youtuber who operates the channel “FreeZia” which she created in 2019. She had 1.9 million subscribers as of Tuesday.

The show “Single’s Inferno” featured 12 single men and women trying to find love on a deserted island. Concluding on Jan. 8, it became the first Korean reality show to enter Netflix's global Top 10 TV Shows chart.
