Hana Financial Group made it into the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (BGEI), the company announced Thursday.
The index is a composite indicator that measures the complex concept of gender equality. Multiple factors are considered for a company to make it into the index, including its efforts to foster female talent, equal pay, policies against gender discrimination and a generally inclusive culture.
Hana Financial Group said it offers many benefits for female workers and runs educational programs on gender equality.
Hana Bank hired five new female executives this year, according to the company.
Hana Financial Group “will continuously work on creating a society where women can grow and spread gender equality,” said a company spokesperson.
Hana Financial Group also was accepted by the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Carbon Management Honors Club for the second consecutive year, it said on Wednesday.
The London-based CDP runs a global disclosure system enabling governments and companies to measure and manage companies' environmental impacts.
