At the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Korea won one gold, four silver and two bronze medals to finish fourth on the overall speed skating medal standings.
Team Korea will be aiming to repeat that success in Beijing, with six athletes — Kim Jun-ho, Cha Min-kyu, Kim Min-seok, Lee Seung-hoon and Chung Jae-won — competing in the men’s events and four athletes — Kim Min-sun, Kim Hyun-yung, Park Ji-woo and Kim Bo-reum — competing in the women’s events.
Lee is defending champion in the men’s mass start, while soon-to-be three-time-Olympian Kim Bo-reum also won silver in the women’s event in PyeongChang.
