Three of the four Korean snowboarders competing at the Beijing Winter Games — Lee Sang-ho, Kim Sang-gyeom and Jeong Hae-rim — will represent Korea in the parallel giant slalom.

Lee Sang-ho is Korea’s snowboard medal hopeful after winning an International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup bronze medal in the men’s parallel giant slalom race in Scuol, Switzerland this January.

Four years ago at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, Lee won a surprise silver medal in the men’s parallel giant slalom. The 26-year-old will become a two-time Olympian in Beijing.

Lee Na-yoon will try her hand at the wilder end of the sport, as Korea’s only competitor in the halfpipe event.
