Samsung Electronics released the Galaxy S22 series in major markets including Korea, the United States and Europe after the flagship line saw a record number of advance orders.

The trio of devices – the standard Galaxy S22, Plus and Ultra – is now available in around 40 countries and sales will be extended to over 130 countries by mid-March.

The electronics maker said Friday it sold 1.02 million units during the presale period in Korea alone, which was from Feb. 14 through 21, the highest for any new release of Galaxy models.

In markets outside of Korea, preorders were more than double those for the Galaxy S21 family and a record high. The manufacturer, however, declined to give specific numbers.

More than 60 percent of orders so far were for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, according to the company, the biggest model.

Higher-than-expected orders and a global shortage of electronics components are delaying delivery dates for S22 models. Samsung adjusted the date to March 5 from Feb. 25.

The primary appeal of the S22 line is advanced cameras specializing in photography at night and price tags that remain the same as its predecessor line.

The standard 6.1-inch Galaxy S22 retails for 999,900 won ($835.57) and the 6.6-inch Galaxy S22 Plus for 1.19 million won. The 6.8-inch Galaxy S22 Ultra, which comes with a built-in space for a stylus, is priced at 1.45 million won for the lowest storage option.
