[VIDEO] Why Korea's 2030 generation is a big deal in the presidential election

The partisan divide in Korean politics runs along a generational fault line that pits older voters shaped by Cold War conservatism against now-middle aged voters who came of age during the country’s later struggle against the military dictatorship.

 
While the two generations’ respective loyalties for Korea’s political parties persist, that ideological framework appears increasingly obsolete to the demographic born in the 1980s and 1990s: the so-called 2030 generation.
