Last year, 23.4 trillion won ($18.9 billion) was spent on private tutoring in Korea, the highest amount ever and 21.5 percent higher than 2020, according to a report by the Ministry of Education and Statistics Korea. The monthly average amount spent on private tutoring for a student in Korea was 367,000 won in 2021. [NEWS1]
