Game publisher Com2uS established a new metaverse subsidiary called Com2Verse, the company said Monday.
 
Com2Verse is the same name as the metaverse platform launched by Com2uS last December, which will now be managed by the Com2Verse company. The new company was incorporated on Friday.
 
Comv2Verse will develop a high-quality virtual world service that uses the best of video production technology of Wysiwyg Studios and the extended reality (XR) technology from NP.
 
It is 70 percent owned by Com2uS, 25 percent by the Com2uS subsidiary Wysiwyg Studios and 5 percent by its other subsidiary NP.
 
Hana Financial Group, education tech group Kyowon Group, Kyobo Bookstore and telemedicine start-up Doctor Now will invest in Com2Verse, but the amount has yet to be decided.
 
“We are in talks with dozens of companies in entertainment, fashion, food and beverage, health care, communication and retail regarding investments for Com2Verse,” Com2uS said in a statement.
 
“Together with the capabilities we have at the Com2uS group in the metaverse and the management expertise of the investors, we will expand the presence of Com2Verse as a game changer that will change people’s lives in the future.”
